What are the Top Silicone-Based Personal Lubricants for Sex?
Silicone based lubes are luxurious, there’s no getting around it. These slippery, non-water based, typically oil-free lubricants are ideal for when you need long-lasting friction-free play. They’re even effective in the shower or bath because they take much longer to wash away. Most people with sensitive skin don’t have negative reactions to silicone based lube, and in fact, some can be used for massaging to leave your skin soft and touchable.
Of course, there are a few downsides—it is hard to wash off (that’s kind of the point!), and you shouldn’t use it with silicone sex toys because it will start to break down the material. But not all silicone lubes are created equal, and below are the five best silicone based lubes you can buy now.

Best Silicone Based Lubricants Reviews
Pjur Analyze Me! Anal Glide Silicone Lube
This condom-safe, non-toxic silicone based lube sets a high standard for the market. A convenient pump and extremely discreet packaging—you could really get away with claiming this had some sort of practical, non-sexual use—are just the beginning.
The lube itself is about the same consistency/thickness as olive oil, but that’s where the similarity ends. Look forward to a lube that doesn’t give up until you do! Its silky formula protects against friction and gives you plenty of slippery glides. None of the other lubes on our list lasted as long or stayed as slippery with such small amounts applied. That combined with its far superior packaging puts Pjur at the top of our list.
Penchant Premium
Penchant packaging is definitely discreet, but the “Your New Favorite Lube” catchphrase emblazoned across the front doesn’t leave much to the imagination. Another packaging issue to bear in mind with this lube is its penchant (pun intended!) for leaking. Combine that with a flip top closure, and you need to be very careful about spillage—even more so if your hands are already slippery.
So—you might want to rebottle this one. It’s still worth getting, however, because we’ve yet to try another with its uniquely soft and slick texture. It’s a bit thinner than other silicone based lubes, and might need more frequent reapplication—but it’s worth every bit of it for how good it feels on your skin. It’s truly like a caress in a bottle. This one just plain feels amazing.
Wet Platinum Premium Silicone Based Lubricant
Wet Platinum is one of the most well-known and widely distributed silicone lubes, and as a result, it’s often one of the first silicone based lubricants many people come into contact with. Like Penchant, however, Wet Platinum has a packaging problem—flip top lid and an unstable bottle that’s easily knocked over, with a tendency for leakage. Trade the original packaging out for a pump bottle of some sort.
However, aside from that, Wet Platinum is an excellent choice for a few reasons. It’s extremely slippery, so much so that we advise only using tiny amounts initially or you might get more than you bargained for! Also, many silicone lubes have an unpleasant odor or taste, which Wet Platinum has somehow managed to avoid altogether. That makes it a good option for anything involving oral play, which otherwise you may want to avoid while using some silicone lubes.
It’s also a solid choice for those who are interested in trying out a “standard” silicone lube at a very affordable price. There are better lubes out there, but Wet Platinum performs well, and can give you a good idea of what to expect, without any offensive scents or flavors, and without investing too much!
Passion Lubes, Premium Silicone Lubricant
We really can’t stress enough how much we wish manufacturers would opt for a pump with these lubes—Passion is another flip-top entry, but it makes the cut thanks to its exceptional performance out of the bottle.
This is another thinner silicone lube, one that is likely to leave everything that it touches slick, so bear that in mind when applying. It’s one of our favorites for a massage “oil” (it’s oil free, however) for this reason exactly. It also seems to be even better than most silicone lubes at providing underwater lubrication. If you’ve been avoiding shower fun due to lubrication issues, look no further for a solution.
The downside to that particular perk is that you really have to wash it off pretty aggressively if the feeling of silicone remaining on your skin is bothersome. That is, you’ll want a full-on shower with lots of hot soapy water; a baby wipe is just not going to get the job done. On the other hand, lots of people absolutely love the silky soft skin effect it leaves behind, so it’s a matter of personal preference.
Shibari Intimate Lubricant
Shibari’s water-based offering is one of my favorites in that category. While its silicone lubricant is a good choice for those who like the texture of water based lubes, it just doesn’t deliver the slipperiness that others premium silicone lubes do.
It’s a good option for those who don’t care for how drippy and almost overly slippery most silicone lubes are, but personally when I’m in the mood for silicone I want it to be silky soft. Under certain conditions, Shibari can even get a bit sticky. It is an absolute winner in the “no scent,” category, though! And although it doesn’t come with a pump, the bottle is leak free and not as easy to tip over on your nightstand as the Wet Platinum bottle.
